The Midnight Sanctuary is really a small, 3D visual novel that ends, before promoted gets going. Just as much as I want for being creeped out by some of your story beats, it never came all-around anything remotely unsettling. There’s a skeletal outline of something greater here, but the execution in this particular budget title is way too shallow for anything substantive.

The Midnight Sanctuary starts off with a get Hamomoru Tachibana to arrive at an isolated Japanese village to study and record its history. The village was started by a group escaping the persecution of Christians in Japan. Whilst they are traditional, they expect you to enable them to modernize, to enable them to attract people on the surface world.

The past and future are linked. As you speak to the inhabitants, you soon discover their faith is intertwined with older legends round the mysterious Saint and a shadowy past. I will jump with other locations, learn something for another minute or two, and repeat until I finished the many locations currently showing in the spotlight.

I appreciate an original visual style, however it is challenging discern precisely what is occurring in a few scenes. For sound, the songs is plenty, so i thought a lot of the organ music was alright enough to hope the cathedral was on my listing of locations to travel of waking time. The dialogue is fully-voiced in Japanese with subtitles, and the voice actors are decent. For your game with an obviously smaller budget and cast, it is an area that was largely successful.

My time with all the Midnight Sanctuary was disappointing. It comes with a potentially cool story which is sadly never developed plus a visual style which might be interesting if it wasn’t a bit annoying. It’s actually not heinously offensive, nevertheless it’s negative. The Midnight Sanctuary is actually a visual novel that never realizes a potential. By using a very short story, characters I am never given time, reason, or depth to understand, in addition to a visual style which will be polarizing at best, it’s a waste to find out a fantastic concept underdeveloped.

Although the background music and voice acting is decent, designed for a smaller, budget title, I don’t recommend playing The Midnight Sanctuary.
